Good start. I guess it is a matter of how we can "market" the site among research law students. I will pass on to friends doing research program in Victoria and hopefully the community will grow bigger and bigger. ALPN is a very exciting initiative - I will support you!!!

Thanks for your recent response explaining the ning site - it makes sense to use existing technology and I have displayed my ignorance of developments in this area. It is a shame that more people haven't signed up yet. Just a piece of trivia.......this week I have started a unit in Litigation and Dispute Processing so I am familiarising myself with your text! Tomorrow evening I am presenting a paper on ADR. Our units run as intensives over three weeks.
All the best
Margaret
Margaret,
The Ning platform carries advertisements. This is a test site to see if people join and use the technology. If a healthy community develops we will pay to remove the advertising. Ning is one of the best social networking technologies and is widely used. We do not want to invest funds to reinvent the wheel. At the moment we do not plan any further integration until we can judge usage.

I was wondering if the shared space was an official part of the ALTC funded project - the links at the right are not particularly "professional" and I was concerned I had signed up to a hoax site. Are there plans to integrate a discussion board into the ALPN site rather than using Ning?
